PAT Testing in Shops
 As
an employer it is your
responsibility to ensure that appliances are fit for purpose and
are maintained efficiently.
You are also responsible for
the public whilst in your shop. But surely I don't need PAT
testing in my shop?
PAT Testing for you - at what cost?
Why take the risk? PAT testing (or portable appliance testing)
gives you not only peace of mind, but helps you to comply with
the various health and safety regulations - all at very little
cost.
You may only have a few appliances, a kettle
perhaps, a till, a microwave, a toaster, a computer (with
monitor and printer), a table lamp, some display
lighting.....any of these can fail and potentially injure, catch
fire - or worse!
We have a minimum charge of 45.00
(plus VAT), so depending on the appliance and your business type
this could mean a test is only required every four years.
Or
to put it another way - 11 per year!
